From Mindfulness to Soul Alignment — Returning to What Matters Most
As we move toward the close of the year, I’ve been reflecting on the conversations we’ve been having on The Creative Connection Podcast. The last two episodes — one on Mindfulness, Gratitude, and the Power of Allowing, and the other on Soul Alignment with intuitive coach and energy healer Janet Therese — feel like two strands of the same thread.
Both point us to our north star, home to ourselves.
Both invite us to slow down, listen inward, and rediscover what truly matters.
And both speak directly to what so many high-achieving, visionary women feel this time of year: the nudge to shift, the longing to breathe, and the quiet pull toward a deeper way of living.
Today, I want to weave these two episodes together — and offer you a few reflections as we head into a season that asks us to pause and reconnect which we quite often try to power through.
🌿 Part One: Mindfulness as a Path Back to Your Voice and Vision
In the mindfulness episode, I talked about how simple practices — breath, grounding, gratitude, and allowing — open the doorway to presence.
Presence is the antidote to the pace that keeps so many people, and I believe women running on empty.
When we slow the breath, the nervous system softens.
When we ground, the mind quiets enough for us to hear ourselves again.
When we practice gratitude, relationships shift — not because circumstances change, but because we do.
Mindfulness is not about perfecting calm—it is about learning to allow things to be without attachment to them.
It’s about becoming available to your life again—and sometimes actually listening to the wisdom within.
I find that especially for the woman who is rushing toward the next goal, the next project, the next milestone, mindfulness brings you home to the moment where your true voice can finally be heard.
✨ Part Two: Soul Alignment — A Conversation with Janet Therese
In my conversation with Janet Therese, we explored a deeper question:
What does it mean to live a life aligned with your soul’s intended path?
Janet shared beautiful insights about purpose — not as a role or a job title, but as an inner compass that guides us through expansion and contraction.
Here are a few of the pieces that resonated the most:
🔹 Purpose isn’t something lofty — it’s something lived.
- It may not look like a career.
- It might be the environment you create.
- It might be the way you love, guide, nurture, or speak truth into someone’s life.
🔹 Expansion becomes the body’s yes.
- When we feel alive, open, or connected — that’s alignment.
- When we feel heaviness, constriction, or drained — it may be misalignment, or it may be fear disguising itself as a warning.
🔹 We don’t have to know the whole picture.
- Janet used the image “marbles on a cookie sheet” to describe how our lives influence others in ways we can’t possibly see. We don’t always know how our purpose is touching the world — but it is.
🔹 Feeling your way forward is wiser than forcing clarity.
- Purpose, or our reason for living is revealed through presence, not pressure.
I found that our conversation felt like a gentle reminder for us all — your soul already knows the way.
Our work is to get quiet enough to listen and hear it.
🌙 How These Two Conversations Intertwine
- Mindfulness clears the noise.
- Soul alignment reveals the direction.
- Mindfulness anchors you in your body.
- Alignment asks you to listen to it.
- Mindfulness softens the edges and brings you into the present moment.
- Alignment helps you discern which path is yours to walk.
Together, they create a powerful invitation to stop rushing past your life and begin living it with intention, clarity, and courage.
💜 A Reflection for You
As we near the close of 2025, I find myself asking these questions:
- Where am I being asked to slow down?
- What practices help me feel rooted and present?
- What makes me feel expansive, alive, or connected?
- Where is my body whispering a truth that my mind hasn’t caught up to yet?
I learned back in 2016 while in NYC:
- Your body remembers who you are.
- Your soul knows the way back.
- Presence helps you hear it.
